Cybercrime has emerged as one of the most serious economic and national security threats worldwide, with cyber incidents increasing rapidly in both scale and sophistication. A key challenge in addressing these threats is the persistent gap in cybersecurity awareness, education, and the adoption of best practices across organizations and society. In response to these challenges, the International Center for AI and Cyber Security Research and Innovations (CCRI) was established to conduct world-class, impactful research and to develop next-generation security technologies.
The primary mission of CCRI is to produce high-quality research outcomes, including top-tier journal publications, patents, practical security solutions, and deployable prototypes, while simultaneously training highly skilled cybersecurity professionals. The center aims to prepare students and researchers to support government initiatives and secure high-end positions in industry. Through strong collaborations with academia, government agencies, and industry partners, CCRI has built a robust knowledge base to address real-world technological and security challenges.
The research focus of the center integrates data science and advanced artificial intelligence techniques with interdisciplinary perspectives on cyber risk analysis, threat intelligence, attack detection, situational awareness, and security innovation. Key research thrusts include AI-driven phishing detection and prevention, deepfake detection and misinformation analysis, malware analysis, post-quantum cryptography, secure cloud–edge–IoT systems, and trustworthy AI for cyber defense. Notably, the center is actively conducting NSTC-funded projects on phishing and deepfake detection, addressing critical societal challenges related to online fraud, digital trust, and information integrity.
In addition to research, CCRI serves as an international hub for conferences, workshops, and seminars in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The center provides a dynamic and collaborative training environment for graduate students, doctoral researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and international interns, fostering innovation, hands-on research experience, and global collaboration. Through these efforts, CCRI continues to contribute to advancing cybersecurity resilience and building a safer digital society.
