Internship Guidance of the International Internship Pilot Program
Updated on December 11, 2025
1. Interns who have special medical conditions (including heart
problems, diabetes,
hypertension, epilepsy, pregnancy, psychological conditions, infectious diseases, etc.) that
may affect their ability to participate are not encouraged to join this internship program.
If they choose to do so, interns will be personally responsible for managing their own
medical conditions during the internship. The sponsors will not be held liable for any
damages or accidents arising from interns’ preexisting health conditions.
2. Interns will be subject to all laws of the Republic of China
(Taiwan).
3. Interns are personally responsible for any accidents that occur as a
result of not
following the advice, rules, or regulations stipulated by the internship program. The
sponsors will not be held liable in any way for any negligence on the part of the interns.
In the event of any disputes that may arise, the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will
prevail.
4. Any infractions of the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), or any
evidence of
contribution to such infractions that result in punitive actions by the Republic of China
(Taiwan) government and/or law enforcement authorities toward interns, will be the sole
responsibility of the intern. The organizers will not be held responsible or liable for any
such actions. In addition, the sponsors reserve the right to seek compensations from the
participant, the participant’s family, and/or relatives for any inconveniences or damages
caused by the individual.
5. Written notice warnings: Any intern who engages in inappropriate or
irresponsible
behavior will receive a written notice warning. Examples include disruptive behavior,
excessive tardiness, unethical conduct, etc. Three written warnings will result in dismissal
and disqualification from future programs under the National Science and Technology Council
(“the NSTC”). Please note that host institutes also have the authority to issue written
notice warnings.
6. Dismissal from program: In severe cases, interns may be dismissed
immediately for
unapproved absences from orientation activities or work, endangering the safety of others,
illegal drug use, or other inappropriate acts as determined by the Program Office. The NSTC
and the Program Office reserve the right to inform the intern’s parents, guardians, or
relatives if such circumstances occur. Interns dismissed from the program will also be
disqualified from future NSTC programs. Once =dismissed, interns will no longer receive any
remaining subsidies.
7. The Program Office will provide limited travel insurance for the
duration of the
internship, but we strongly suggest that all interns purchase accident and medical insurance
in their respective places of residence prior to attending the program.
8. The sponsors will not be held liable for, nor be responsible for, any
medical expenses
incurred by interns. In addition, any requests for financial compensation for medical costs
from participants or their parents will be denied.
9. Interns must take full responsibility for their own accommodation and
ground
transportation expenses if they arrive earlier or leave later.
10. Interns are expected to attend all scheduled program activity and
comply with the
regulations of the sponsors, the organizers and the assigned institutions. Only sickness and
approved personal leaves will be accepted as valid reasons for an intern’s absence from
institutions, lectures, or any other mandatory activities. Otherwise, the intern will be
denied continued participation in the program and will not receive the Certificate of
Achievement.
