Introduction

From 1999 to 2004, I worked as an associate researcher at the Precision Instrument Development Center (PIDC) in Taiwan, where I focused on developing optomechanical systems for remote sensing applications. From 2004 to 2006, I worked as an engineer in the Bio-Microfluidic Technology Department at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan. Since the summers of 2006, 2011, and 2016, I have been at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan, as an assistant professor, associate professor, and professor, respectively, in the Department of Biomechatronics Engineering. My research interests are portable DNA detection, heat and mass transfer, microfluidics, computational fluid dynamics, and opto-mechatronic integration.

To develop a portable pathogen nucleic acid real-time detection device, hoping to detect infectious viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms in any field and transmit the detection results to a cloud database for analysis using IoT technology. Our core technologies encompass thermal control, circuit design, precision processing, sensing, biological sample processing, and image analysis.
