Research Field
Min-Jie Hsu received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2015 and 2023, respectively. From 2023 to 2025, he was an Assistant Professor with the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Tamkang University, Taiwan. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. His research interests include cognitive system design, large language model(LLM), AI chip design, neural networks, and AI edge device.
The Artificial General Intelligence Laboratory (AGI Lab) is located at the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan Normal University. The lab was originally established at Tamkang University in 2023 before relocating to NTNU in 2025. Robot technology has made significant strides, with excellent results across various fields. AGI Lab is dedicated to advancing Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and applying it to the design and development of advanced robotic systems. Our core objective is to create cognitive robots capable of human-like perception, learning, understanding, and decision-making. To achieve this, our research operates in a dual-track parallel mode, with a simultaneous focus on AI chip design. Our work covers chip architectures optimized for demanding AI tasks and employs a strategy of software-hardware co-optimization. This integrated approach not only fundamentally enhances a robot system's intelligence and capabilities but also ensures we deliver high-performance, low-power AI solutions, thereby enabling comprehensive innovation from the foundational hardware to high-level applications.

Job Description
Students are expected to work with fellow researchers at the AGI Lab under the guidance of a mentor. Interns will regularly participate in laboratory meetings to discuss research progress, exchange ideas, and stay updated on the latest academic trends. Through these collaborative sessions and hands-on projects, students will gain specialized expertise in power system control and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) methodologies. The students are expected to produce solid research results and write a comprehensive report before the end of the internship. After the program, those with excellent research potential may receive financial support to pursue their postgraduate studies at NTNU.
Preferred Intern Educational Level
Undergraduate or postgraduate students.
Skill sets or Qualities
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence and its applications in energy and power systems.
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning, power electronics, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems.
- Proficiency in programming (e.g., C, Python, or VHDL); experience with MATLAB/Simulink and PSIM is highly preferred.
