Introduction

Prof. Sirirat Sae Lim is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Management of Technology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. Her work focuses on creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and technology management, with a strong interest in how these areas can create a positive impact for society. 

She is committed to mentoring students in an inspiring, interdisciplinary, and internationally oriented research environment. International interns joining her lab will have the opportunity to explore research topics such as sustainable innovation, entrepreneurship education, creativity, value creation, and innovation management. The internship is designed to help students strengthen their research capability, critical thinking, and global perspective while experiencing Taiwan’s vibrant academic and innovation ecosystem.

The Sustainable Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab offers an inspiring research environment for students interested in creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Our work focuses on how innovative ideas and entrepreneurial thinking can address real-world challenges and generate meaningful social and economic impact. 

We welcome curious, motivated, and globally minded interns who are eager to learn and contribute. Through this internship, students will have the opportunity to engage in research, develop critical thinking and academic skills, and gain valuable international experience in Taiwan’s vibrant research and innovation environment.

Our lab welcomes students interested in research on sustainable innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and value creation. We especially encourage applicants who would like to explore how innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and education can generate meaningful impact for business, society, and sustainable development.


Research Topics

Research topics in this lab include sustainable innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education, value creation, innovation management, sustainable business models, and social innovation. We are particularly interested in how innovation and entrepreneurial thinking can solve real-world problems and create meaningful impact for society and sustainable development.


Honor

Prof. Sirirat Sae Lim has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching, mentoring, and international education, including two Ministry of Education Distinguished Teaching Practice Research Project Awards, the National First Prize in Sustainability Teaching Practice, NYCU Distinguished and Excellent Teaching Awards, Outstanding Mentor Awards, and recognition for excellence in advising international students.

Her SDGs-oriented entrepreneurship teaching case was selected for the Advance HE Global Impact Grant for two consecutive years, and her English online course Using Creative Problem Solving has reached over 24,000 learners from 162 countries. Her students have also won more than 20 awards in academic, innovation, and sustainability competitions, with some projects leading to patentable outcomes.


Educational Background

Prof. Sirirat Sae Lim holds a PhD and an M.Phil. in Education from the University of Cambridge, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with First Class Honours from the University of Malaya. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Management of Technology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. Her academic background and expertise span creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and technology management.


Job Description

The intern may assist with literature review, research design development, interview or survey preparation, and data collection in Taiwan. Depending on the project stage, the intern may also contribute to data analysis, interpretation of findings, and the development of research outputs. The internship offers valuable experience in innovation- and organisation-related research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and empirical research in a real-world context. Any research outputs arising from the internship will be developed under the supervision of the host professor and managed in accordance with agreed-upon academic authorship, confidentiality, data management, and publication practices.

Preferred Intern Educational Level

Master’s or PhD student.

  • Strong interest in research related to innovation management, organisations, and/or education.
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
