Research Field
Shih-Wen Chen received her BS degree in electronic engineering and MS degree in electronic engineering from Catholic Fu-Jen University in 2000 and 2004, respectively. Her major is Software/Hardware Codesign. She was a firmware engineer responsible for cryptography algorithms at Goldkey Technologies, Inc., and was an IC designer for USB 3.0 at VIA Technologies, Inc., from 2004 to 2009. In 2016, she received her Ph.D. degree in engineering from National Taiwan University, where she studied nanophotonics and plasmonics under the supervision of Prof. Jia-Han Li. She joined Prof. Thomas C. K. Yang’s lab as a post-doctoral fellow at National Taipei University of Technology from 2016 to 2022. She was hired as an assistant professor at Graduate Institute of Automation Technology in Feb. 2023. Her current research interests include optoelectronics and artificial intelligence.
The lab focuses on two main research fields: the design of metasurfaces for novel research and the development of deep learning for industrial applications.
