SYW Lab-Autophagy and Disease Biology
Research Field
Dr. Shan-Ying Wu received her Ph.D. from National Cheng Kung University and completed her postdoctoral training from 2014 to 2019. In 2017, she was a visiting scholar at Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Wu is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Taipei Medical University. Her research focuses on understanding how autophagy regulates human diseases, including cancer, viral infection, and metabolic disorders. Her lab integrates molecular biology, cell biology, and disease models to uncover the mechanisms of autophagy and explore new therapeutic strategies by targeting autophagic pathways.
The Wu Laboratory studies how autophagy regulates cellular homeostasis and human diseases. We are particularly interested in understanding how autophagy contributes to cancer progression, viral infection, and metabolic disorders.
Our research integrates molecular biology, cell biology, and disease models to uncover the mechanisms that control autophagy and cellular quality control. Ultimately, we aim to translate these discoveries into new therapeutic strategies targeting autophagy.
Students in the lab will have the opportunity to work with advanced experimental approaches and explore fundamental questions in cell biology and disease research.
Autophagy in viral infection, metabolic diseases, tumor biology, and miRNAs regulation.
