Research Field

Environmental Engineering

Introduction

Dr. Justin Chun-Te Lin was obtained his Ph.D degree from Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology, Imperial College London, U.K in 2008. He awarded full governmental scholarship after three-years working in the industries, including an environmental consulting company (Green Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.) and an OLED and PLED manufacturing company (Delta Optoelectronics Inc.). He served as Project Engineer and have many experiences in plant design, construction, operation and maintenance of various membrane system applying on different water and wastewater treatment. He is currently a Professor in Department of Environmental Engineering and Science, Feng Chia University, and previously also worked in National Chiao Tung University, Chung Yuan Christian University, and National Taiwan University.

My laboratory worked on both polymer and membrane surface modifications, green separation process development, integration and intensification, process modelling, technologies of desalination, water and wastewater treatment, microplastics, nanoparticles, and evaluation tools (e.g. LCA) for circular economy and carbon reduction.

Research Topics
  • Membrane (polymeric) fabrication, (surface) modification and process development,
  • Bioreactors (for biodegradation and biorefinery) and downstream purification;
  • Water and wastewater treatment (and desalination),
  • Nanoparticles, Nanobubbles, Nanocomposites and Nanofibrous materials;
  • Substances of Emergent Concerns (e.g. microplastics, insecticides, virus);
  • Environmental Management (Carbon/Water Footprint, Nexus, Sustainable metrics);
  • Analytical methods (chemometrics and AI algorithum) and passive sampler.
