Dr. Tien's research focuses on nonlinear dynamics, with a primary emphasis on computational modeling and experimental investigation of structural systems. His work has led to the development of innovative computational tools that enable the analysis and control of high-dimensional systems across diverse engineering domains. Key application areas include the modeling and analysis of aerospace structures, system identification of nonlinear systems, vibration control in automation machinery, and optimization of vibration energy harvesting technologies.
DyNoS Lab (the Lab for Dynamics of Nonlinear Structures and Systems) specializes in research on nonlinear dynamics, vibration, and structural mechanics. We focus on modeling, identifying, and utilizing the dynamic behavior of nonlinear structures and systems.
