Introduction

The PI is professor of astronomy and physics at NTHU. he has broad interests in high-energy astrophysics observation and instrumentation.

The lab (SAIL) members include the PI, visiting scholars, postdocs, graduate students, and assistants. Working language is English. There are regular group meetings, sub-group meetings, and project meetings.


Research Topics

Science topics of this lab include pulsars and pulsar wind nebulae, X-ray binaries, magnetars  and Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs). Two space instrument projects are on-going. One is the Gamma-ray Transients Monitor (GTM) and the other is Gamma-ray Polarimeter and Monitor (GPM). GTM will fly on Formosat-8B, scheduled to launch in late 2026. GPM will fly on Formosat-8D to launch in 2028. Formosat-8 is a series of remote sensing satellite of Taiwan Spce Agency (TASA).
