Sherry Yueh-Hsia Chiu, Ph.D., is Professor in the Department of Health Care Management, College of Management at Chang Gung University since September 2009. She earned Ph.D. degree in Health Informatics and Decision Making from National Yang-Ming University, and she was also a research fellow at Tampere School of Public Health and Finnish Cancer Registry (2007-2009) under Finnish-Taiwanese academic collaboration project. Her current research interests include preventive medicine, design and evaluation for screening or health related policy intervention, and health informatics.

Prof. Chiu’s Lab is dedicated to the application of biostatistics and epidemiological methods to solve complex clinical and public health challenges. The main fields include: (1) study design and analysis for clinical evaluation, (2)Disease epidemiology: They investigate the distribution, patterns, and determinants of health and disease conditions within specific populations, often utilizing large-scale databases (such as the National Health Insurance Research Database), (3) Evidence-Based Medicine: Focuses on synthesizing data to support clinical decision-making, helping to translate research results into actionable healthcare insights, (4) Interdisciplinary Collaboration: A hallmark of this lab is its deep collaboration with clinicians, oncologists, and public health officials to study outcomes related to cancer screening, chronic disease management, and preventative medicine.
