Job Description

This work aligns with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration post-2020. It focuses on the theme of "The Relationship Between Crop Rotation and Changes in Bird Habitats," using farmlands in Chiayi County and City as the research area. The study is conducted over three issues. First , to explore the relationship between crop production and bird habitats. Second, to compare empirical and expert models of habitat suitability for functional groups of farmland birds. Third, to evaluate the effects of stacked ecological service benefits on
enhancing habitat suitability for functional bird groups through crop rotation.

An integrated research approach is employed, including farmer surveys, bird data calibration, habitat suitability assessment methods (expert knowledge-based approaches and species distribution models), and multivariate analysis. These methods facilitate the exploration of the interplay between crop rotation locations and habitat suitability for functional bird groups. The anticipated results aim to provide recommendations for designing crop rotation systems that support farmland bird functional groups, achieving a balance between agricultural development, bird habitat conservation, and biodiversity preservation.
