Biology

Introduction

I am major in pteridology research, particular for phylogen(om)ics, systematics, genome biology, and reproductive  biology of these plasnts.

Enjoying the diversity of ferns and lycophytes, and studying diverse evolutionary issues of these plants.

Research Topics

I. Phylogenetics and systematics of Asian ferns

  1. New species and records, and systematics of Taiwanese ferns.
  2. Phylogenetics and taxonomic revisions of fern genera and families, particularly those distributed in Asia

II. Genome biology and phylogenomics of fern

  1. Whole genome sequencing in ferns and lycophytes
  2. Genome size inference and its evolutionary patterns
  3. Revealing evolutionary relationships among fern lineages using genome scale dataset

II. Fern gametophyte biology and diversity

  1. Molecular ecology strategy to identify fern gametophytes collected from fields
  2. Diversity of fern gametophytes, and their fungal symbionts and temporal dynamics
