Vision and Intelligent Computing
Research Field
Dr. Isack Farady is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Yuan Ze University, Taiwan. His research expertise includes computer vision, multimedia applications, and deep learning. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Yuan Ze University in 2023. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Farady joined National Central University as a postdoctoral research fellow, where he conducted research on 3D seismic analysis using deep learning–based models. Prior to this, he contributed to research projects at the National Center for High-Performance Computing as a research fellow, with a focus on industrial defect detection. His professional experience also includes more than ten years as a Data Communication Engineer.
The Vision and Intelligent Computing (VIC) Lab is part of the Department of Electrical Engineering and focuses on research in computer vision, multimedia processing, artificial intelligence, and intelligent computing. Our work centers on analyzing image, video, and audio data using modern deep learning methods, with particular interest in applications related to environmental and earth sciences.
The goal of the VIC Lab is to develop practical and reliable AI-based solutions for real-world problems. Our research spans several application areas, including healthcare, geoscience, human–computer interaction, and intelligent systems. We work closely with academic collaborators and industry partners to bridge fundamental research and applied development, and to ensure that our methods can be effectively transferred to real-world use cases.
Our lab is currently conducting two research projects funded by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan. We welcome applicants who are interested in exploring the following research areas:
• Artificial Intelligence in Earth and Environmental Sciences
• Seismic Layer Interpretation for Earthquake Identification
Through this research internship, students will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing projects, contribute to cutting-edge research, and explore the potential of these topics in an academic research environment.
