Michal Kořínek is a Pharmacist (Ms..) who graduated from Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy, Czech Republic. He participated in the European cooperative research program ERASMUS at Eastern University in Finland (PharmDr.) and the student exchange program organized by IPSF in Taiwan (community pharmacy). He obtained Ph.D. degree at the Graduate Institute of Natural Products, Kaohsiung Medical University. The research directions include bioactivity-guided extraction, separation, and isolation of immune-modulating components using bioinformatic tools (molecular docking and networking), with the aim of discovering new drugs from natural sources. Additionally, we validate the traditional efficacy of herbs, providing scientific clarity on their properties from both phytochemical and pharmacological perspectives.

Our laboratory is dedicated to the 'Discovery of active natural products' through the systematic extraction and isolation of bioactive molecules. Our research program focuses on:

• Natural Product Chemistry: Advancing methodologies for the extraction, separation, and purification of specialized metabolites.
• Mechanistic Validation: Providing a phytochemical basis for the traditional use of herbal medicines in treating immune-related diseases, supported by collaborative biological assays.
• Resource Valorization: Biodiversity prospecting of edible plants and agricultural byproducts (waste) to identify novel leads for pharmaceutical development.
