National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC), under the National Institutes of Applied Research, founded in 1991, is committed to strengthening national high-performance computing (HPC) technology, providing world-class supercomputing and academic research network infrastructure, and laying the foundation for technological development in Taiwan.

NCHC, in the spirit of "driving transformation for a better future with HPC", is dedicated to promoting the development of HPC technologies and applications, and to leading digital transformation in industry and smart living.

As the national laboratory that owns the only shared large-scale computing platform and academic research network facility in Taiwan, NCHC plans and executes research in leading HPC technology and applications. It provides professional technical know-how and platform services to academia, research institutes, industry, and government agencies to advance scientific discovery and digital R&D innovation. Through its long-term operation and support of national HPC infrastructure, NCHC has also contributed to the cultivation of HPC talent across diverse research fields.

With the emergence of applications such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and digital twins, the demand for HPC is increasing daily. NCHC will continue to build new generation of HPC platforms, robust academic research networks, while conducting research on information security and data encryption, advanced HPC methods, quantum computing, and big data analytics. It will also actively participate in international collaboration and talent exchange to create a smarter, sustainable and better future.
